I'm a stunning and sweet 3 month old Terrier/Beagle mix. I was found wandering along Cedar Ridge by my rescuers around the second week of August. I was very skinny and very lost. My rescuers took me to their vet where I was dewormed and brought me to Pet Savers where I received my first set of puppy shots. They've been feeding me regularly and now, I look and feel GREAT! I'll probably be medium-sized when I am fully grown. My rescuers have housetrained and kennel-trained me. I travel great in a car and walk good on a leash. I'm great with kids, other dogs, and cats. Since I'm still a puppy, I'll need lots of chew toys and exercise so I don't get bored and get into things I shouldn't. If you'd like to meet me, please call Don at 318-688-5267. I'm a really sweet German Shepherd mix. My owners abandoned me after they moved. I was sad because I didn't know what I had done for them to leave me. I thought they loved me. I really nice man from the neighborhood came and got me. I was so happy that someone came along to rescue me. He brought me to Pet Savers for assessment to see if they could take me in and place me for adoption. Laura assessed me and found that I'm a submissive, gentle, and sweet young girl. I get along great with other dogs, I'm not hyper, and get along great with kids and people of all ages. I'm about a year old and about 45 pounds. I travel really well in a car and walk well on a leash. Since I'm still young, I would need lots of chew toys to keep me busy and exercise. I slept in a kennel at my rescuer's home and did very well. According to my rescuer, I'm almost housetrained, but I was only with him for a couple of days and before that I was always left outside. Hey, you say'n I have big ears?! The better to hear you with my dear! Bark! I'm a super-sweet 5 month old Chihuahua/Yorkie mix... also known as a "Chorkie". My owner moved to a home with no fence and when she lets me out to potty... I keep darting towards the busy highway. She's afraid one day I won't be so lucky and wants to make sure I'm in a safe environment, so she brought me to Pet Savers. I'm housetrained, but I can also use puppy pads. I'm GREAT with kids, other dogs, and cats. I'm about 12 pounds right now and once I'm fully grown, I'll probably be 15 pounds or so. I'm playful, playful, playful. I get nervous on car rides, but I'm not destructive. I like chewing on my chew toys and if you make sure I have those around, I SHOULD leave your shoes alone... but remember, I'm a puppy! I had an issue when I was younger with a collar... so, I don't particular care for them at all. You see, I got one caught in my mouth and ever since then, I hate them. A breakaway collar would probably be best for me... or maybe even a harness. I'm UTD on shots and will be neutered before adoption or you'll get a voucher to make sure that's done. I was found by my rescuer about a month ago wandering around his apartment complex. I was emaciated and covered with scabs. He nursed me back to health and took me to the vet for shots, heartworm test (which was negative), and a fecal exam. He tried to find my owner, but could not and he can't keep me because his apartment complex will only allow one dog and he already has one. I'm about 13 months old and weigh all of 5 pounds. He's been pad training me and most of the time I do use it, but still need some work. I travel good in a car and am not destructive or a digger... BUT... I LOVE magazines. I will shred them to pieces if you let me. I need a little more training on a leash too. I'm a little timid and it appears that I haven't had a lot of human contact prior to my rescuer, but I know in the right home I would come around. I'd love a home with no small children as I am very tiny. I'd prefer a home with older... not so wild kids... and responsible parents. A home with an older couple would be nice too. I'm at Pet Savers' vet right now getting neutered and should be arriving at Pet Savers sometime the week of August 9th, 2010, but the date is not certain, so you may want to call to make sure I'm there. I'm Outlaw on the left and I'm Sarge on the right! We are 2 year old pure-bred Cocker Spaniels. We are being surrendered to Pet Savers because our owners had to move to an apartment and the wife is going through a high-risk pregnancy. They'd rather us find a home where we will have a yard and can get the attention we deserve, because they just can't right now because of the pregnancy. I (Outlaw) weigh about 22 pounds... and I (Sarge) am a big boy at about 36 pounds. We have super-sweet temperaments and get along with kids, other dogs, and even cats. We are house-trained and used to being home alone for 8 hours at a time. We are kennel-trained for sleeping and when our owners are gone for short periods. We travel really well in a car and walk great on a leash. We are not destructive and we don't dig. We are UTD on our shots and heartworm negative. We are scheduled to go to Pet Savers' vet on August 10, 2010, and should be arriving at Pet Savers sometime around August 13, 2010. I'm a super-sweet 1 year old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix. I have really interesting coloring as you can see. My owner is retired and she was pretty much "guilted" into taking me when she was told I was going to the pound. She is retired and already has two dogs. She wants to make sure, though, that I go to a really good home and she knows Pet Savers will make sure of that. I have a super temperament and get along with other dogs, cats, and kids. I'm still working on my housetraining, but I know with a little help and positive encouragement, I could learn. I'm kennel trained and when my owner leaves, that's where I go. I travel great in a car and walk great on a leash. Given the chance, I will dig... but usually only to cool off... BUT, remember, I'm an inside girl... so, there shouldn't be too many opportunities for me to dig. When my owner surrendered me, she wrote on my intake that "I love with all my heart". We are 7 week old mix pups. There are 4 males and 3 females... 3 tan and 4 black. One of the tan puppies got adopted shortly after our arrival at Pet Savers! Our owner says our mommy is a 24 pound Pomeranian mix... and our daddy is a lab mix. With this combination, we're not sure how big we'll get, but it could be anywhere from 24-45 pounds. The man who surrendered us is disabled and cannot properly care for us or place us for adoption, so Pet Savers is helping out. He promised Pet Savers, though, that he would make sure his dogs got spayed and neutered so that this doesn't happen again and Pet Savers is thankful for that. We've had our first set of shots now and Pet Savers gave us all a flea treatment to get rid of all the fleas that we had. We've also been dewormed. Our adoption fee is $80, which will get you a $60 voucher to get us spayed/neutered when we come of age. If you'd like to meet us, please come out to Pet Savers' shelter! I was surrendered to Pet Savers because my owner has become allergic and had no time for me. I’m a 7 year old pre-bred Schnauzer and my severe matting is evidence that my owner has no time for me. It is so severe that I do not want to be touched and will have to be sedated for a complete shave-down. I’m small at only about 26 pounds or so. I’m housetrained, travel good in a car, and walk good on a leash. I get along fine with other dogs and cats, but small rambunctious kids or a rowdy household may not be good for me. I do have some trust issues associated with not being given much attention. A home with an adult couple or single person who wants a loving companion might be more suitable for me. I’m sure, though, once Pet Savers’ takes care of removing the mats from my body, I’ll feel much better than I do right now. I went to Pet Savers’ vet on August 2nd, 2010, to get me UTD on shots, neutered, shave-down, and heartworm tested… and should be returning around August 4-6, 2010.
