Pet Savers
Welcome to Pet Savers, Inc. in Shreveport, Louisiana. We are a
non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to rescue,
protect, and place abandoned or unwanted pets and provide funds
for neutering, spaying, and other veterinary care.
We provide a safe, no-kill alternative to Animal Control. Our
space is limited, however, and if pets are not being adopted
fast enough we won't have room to take on more.
ASPCA Day Pet Adoption!
Here we are at the Boardwalk parking garage for the big Adoption Day.
Pet Savers regulars Ninna Lopez and Peggy Green are holding Pal, who
got adopted after more than a year at the Pet Savers shelter! We
adopted eight dogs, but one was returned to us after an hour.
Although we took several steps forward, we also took a couple steps back.
We took a sweet dog from a woman wandering around the Adoption event that
she "didn't really want." And when we pulled up to the shelter at 7:30pm,
someone had dumped a massive unneutered Pit Bull at our gate with an
anonymous note, so we are only down five dogs and two of those were being
fostered in our homes.
Along those lines, please, please, please never just drop-off
an animal. We are ALWAYS at or over capacity and are running on a VERY
tight budget. The vet bills for the shelter are usually over $6,000 per
MONTH. Not to mention food, litter, water, electricity, etc...

Please Help
As a non-profit, we always need help...and your donation is
Tax Deductible.
- WE DESPERATELY NEED MORE DOG HOUSES, preferably IGLOO!!!
- We always need scoopable cat litter.
Pet Savers now has a shelter (formerly Aaron's Lakeside Kennels).
Effective August 1, 2007, our adoption fee is $60.
Most cats and kittens are boarded at the Pet Savers Shelter.
Some are declawed.

Because many of the pets we save are strays, we cannot guarantee
that they are house-trained, good with children, good with other
pets, friendly or unfriendly. We simply don't know their history
unless the owners gave them up for adoption. But we feel all
animals are deserving of a home and safe place to live, regardless
of how large or small, cute or homely, perfect or disabled.
We rely on donations to keep up our work. If you can help us with
donations or by volunteering, we welcome you. If not, we hope
you will tell others about us. And thanks for visiting our web
site!
