Post-A-Pet: Instructions for the Website

How Pet Savers can help

Pet Savers would be happy to help you find your pet a home. We can place the pet on our website at www.PetsaversShreveport.org under "Dogs/cats not in shelter," and on www.adoptapet.com, a national database of animals up for adoption.

Please email: PostAPet@PetsaversShreveport.org a "great" picture of the pet, along with profile information, and your contact information. The picture is the most important aspect. If the picture is not great... and the pet doesn't look adorable or handsome... adopters won't even bother to read the profile. Keep that in mind when taking a picture. Please only email one picture.

The profile should include as much information as you know. An example of a great profile is below: (Writing it as if the dog/cat is talking attracts more attention.)

Important! We do not have time to edit before placement on the sites! For this reason, it is important that you send ONLY a picture and a profile... no additional communication. What you send is what is being placed on the websites!

Also, do not type in ALL CAPS, all lowercase, or use texting-style shorthand (e.g. "you" not "u").

If you do decide to list your pet on our website, please be sure to let us know if the pet is adopted so that we can remove the profile.

I love attention, especially with children that know how to play with me. I know not to potty inside and when my owner leaves to go to work, I immediately go inside my crate and wait for my treat. I am also a good guard dog and alert my owner whenever I hear sounds outside. Basic Profile Generator

This will allow you to generate a very basic profile that has all of the information you will need. After you click "Create a Profile," a pop-up window will appear. Then follow these instructions:

Click the "select all" button
Copy the text (Type Control-C or Apple-C)
Paste the text (Type Control-V or Apple-V) into the email to Pet Savers
