Sponsor A Not-So-Adoptable Dog
At Pet Savers, we believe every dog deserves a chance at a good life. However, we have some dogs that may NEVER get a home other than our shelter. They may be homely, or dog-aggressive, not good with children, or just too ordinary for most folks. We love them all and care for them and want to bring attention to them. Would you consider sponsoring one that has been there too long... by the month, for 6 months, or even a year? Some of these dogs have lived with us for over a year. Pick one and call us. Tell us whether you want to spend $80 for one month's sponsorship or $500 for 6 months or $1000 for a year. We will send you frequent updates on the dog and of course, we would hope you would come out and meet him or her. With your permission, we will place your name on the dog's photo as a sponsor.

Rebel (Female)
Rebel was brought in as we were closing on Dec. 19. Her people assumed we could just take any dog, but we were full at the time. She was growling in the car and the story was that she has NEVER had a loving home. They would have taken her to the pound, but I urged them to just take her to my vet and have her put down rather than have the pound do it. When we got there I saw another side of her and just had to give her a chance. We got her spayed. Within 5 days she was happy and energetic and loving and is now living in the fenced area in front of the shelter with her Igloo dog house and blanket. She really did just need a chance. Oh, and she does well with cats! It reminds me how many dogs with real potential get discarded. Pet Savers Shelter.

I'm a Rebel with a cause! I just need a lvoing home.

Stella (Female)
Stella was found by one of our vets dodging traffic. She's now been spayed. Looks like a Pit mix...she get along with some dogs and fights with others. Pet Savers Shelter.

Mama Dog (Female)
Mama Dog is some kind of brindle mix. Spayed and up to date on shots. One of those dogs you pass over, but she is just the best! Pet Savers Shelter.

I'm not the prettiest dog in the shelter, but I'm really good!

PeeWee (Female)
PeeWee is a spayed female Chow mix (?) who dislikes men and wants to fight with every dog she sees. She's sweet and loving with individual women, however. She may even be house-trained. 11/8/06. Pet Savers Shelter.

Champ Two (Male)
Champ Two is a big neutered boy with lots of energy. Pet Savers Shelter.

Jasmine (Female)
9/16/06. This Rottie mix is Jasmine, a spayed female fence-climber who is sweet as can be...has not tried to climb the fence at Pet Savers Shelter, however.

Reesus (Male)
Reesus is some some kind of Black Lab mix. When he was brought in we were told he only liked women, but he eventually seemed fine with everybody. However, he got adopted after about a year and charged the husband, so he's back. Neutered. Pet Savers Shelter.

This dog is a single girl's dream if she doesn't want men around!

Scarlett (Female)
Scarlett is a beautiful young longer-haired mix who is smart, lively and affectionate. She was just a young puppy when she was found, but has now been spayed. Craves attention. Pet Savers Shelter.

Rhonda (Female)
Here's Rhonda, a good-natured Rottweiler mix from the country brought in with her 2 pups. She just loves being outside. Spayed and ready to go. Pet Savers Shelter.

Bubba, Earl, Mabel, Wayne, Dixie (Various)
These are some of the hardest dogs to place we've had since starting Pet Savers. They came in about almost 2 years ago as little pups with their siblings from the dump in Mansfield. Only two have been adopted and one died. Momma was a hound and Daddy was a Lab. All the (45 lb.) pups have been treated for mange. They are good natured and love people and play well with other dogs. The boys are neutered and the girls are spayed. They are all at Pet Savers Shelter. One finally got adopted 4/17/08...we think Ellie Mae.

I could be your dog's outside playmate!

Jett (Male)
Jett is a full black lab found lost in the woods. He is neutered and has had all his shots. Jett can be visited at Pet Savers Shelter.

Koda (Male)
Not-so-great photo of one of Annie's two remaining puppies... The black and white one is Koda. He has turned into a dog in front of our eyes! Neutered. Pet Savers Shelter.

Dreyfus (Male)
This photo of Dreyfus, a handsome young male hound found out in the country, just doesn't do the boy justice...he's very energetic and twirls in his kennel. If you have another dog, it needs to be a female. Pet Savers Shelter.

Soooo...you want to take me for a walk? You know you do!

Susie and Sandy (Female)
Here are Susie, and Sandy, dumped at the dump as puppies. Sandy had been shot in the mouth. Despite their beginnings, they both have sweet dispositions. Spayed and ready to go, they have spent their puppyhood in a cage. Pet Savers Shelter.

Talk about your "treasures from dumpster diving."

Brownie (Female)
Brownie is a female dog who lived on her own in South Highlands until someone was able to befriend her and gain her trust enough to get her in a crate. She had puppies that were all taken to the pound and put down because of Parvo. She has been spayed and treated for heartworms. She has made lots of progress with people and dogs. Don't tell the other dogs this, but she's my favorite. Pet Savers Shelter.

I'm Linda's favorite!

Champ (Male)
Champ was thrown over the fence at Southern Hills Animal Hospital. He is some kind of mix, and a sweet boy who deserves better treatment. Adopted 7/21 and returned because he was too much in the city. Neutered. He and Brownie are best friends. Pet Savers Shelter.

I have a special talent for opening any gate.
