Spike (Male)
Spike is a lively neutered male Shih-Tzu or Lhasa Apso mix. He was on his way to the pound when we took him. He was matted and miserable until we got him shaved. Pet Savers Shelter. Adopted 7/2/08.

Girlie (Female)

Benji (Male)
Benji is a Pekingese mix, we think, although a few people have commented he looks like a Brussels Griffon!. He's a lively little boy and has been at the vet for too long without a home. Neutered, about 2 years old. Pet Savers Shelter. Adopted 6/28/08.

Bella (Female)
My name is Bella. I am about 12 wks old. I stumbled upon a families back porch one night and they were unable to keep me, so I am now with my foster family. I was really sick but have been on medicine for 2 weeks and I am all better. I am current on all my shots, I have been wormed and I am also on Frontline. I am in the process of crate training and house training and my mommy says that I am doing really good. I can sit on command and I am slowly picking up fetch. I am a lab/golden retriever mix. I am super cute and I am a ball of energy. I love to swim in my kiddie pool that my family bought me and I love to play with my 3 big brothers. I am good with kids even though I tend to nibble on their fingers. My adoption fee is $60 and that will pay for my spaying when I am old enough. Lucky (Male)
"Lucky" was found at an old oil field site in Keatchi. He seems to be house trained and would make a great inside or outside dog. The vet says he is about 5 months old and is not neutered. We found two puppies who's mother had been hit by a car. The puppies were close to starving to death. The pups are now eating well and have wagging tails but they need a happy end to their very rough start in life. The puppies are about 7-8 weeks old, have been wormed, are on flea control, and have had the first set of puppy shots. They have no ticks, fleas or parasites. Macy (Unknown)
Macy is 3/4 dachshund 1/4 chihuahua, about 11 pounds, 2 years old, birthday January 22nd. Indoor/outdoor dog, not house broken, and not spayed. Shots are up to date. Bitsy (Female)
Bitsy the Poodle was turned in by the adult daughter of an 84-year old woman who is ill and can no longer care for her. She is 7 or 8 years old, spayed, house-trained, and very sweet. The little girl pictured was at the vet when we were and just loved petting her. She has been groomed and you would not recognize her...she's white! An 18-lb. Poodle does not fit in well at our animal shelter so she's at my house for now. 861-2020. (We could really use a few more foster homes for dogs like Bitsy.)

Dolly (Female)
Dolly needs a good home! She was a pound rescue so I don't know about her history. We have to find her a new home because she likes to climb fences (4ft.) and we live right off Hwy. 80. She's about 25 lbs., white all over with the exception of her ears and eye. Dolly likes to dig, but only for moles. She doesn't just dig to be digging. She was up to date on her heart worm pills until a couple of months ago. She is a very lovable dog, loves attention, loves to be petted. She would love to be a lap dog. We kept her outside but I think she would do very well inside. She got along well with our male dog. She is spayed. Don't know how she would get along with cats. I think she would do well with younger children, but our toddler scares her. Dolly is free to a good home that will love her and take good care of her. Curly Joe (Male)
Curly was found almost dead outside a a nail salon. Our vet thinks he may have been poisoned. He has the most unusual ears we've ever seen. He's a gorgeous pup who doesn't look as though he'll be that large when he grows up, and I've taken him home to nurse him in a quieter environment. Blue (Female)
Sweet, affectionate Catahoula mix found wandering in industrial area of Shreveport. Confused, hungry and thirsty. She is adorable, about 4mo old. Gentle, with unusual white and gray markings and striking blue eyes. Pet Savers Shelter. Adopted 6/18/08.

Golden Retriver Found (Female)
Found in Betty Virginia Park about May 2...older female Golden Retriever. Call 861-2020 or 469-4499. Adopted 5/15/08.

Sissy (Female)
Sissy is a registered Pomeranian, but the current owner does not have her papers. She is somewhere between 6 to 7 years old. She is a very sweet dog who needs to find someone to love and spoil her. The daughter moved out and has a Pit Bull now and can't keep her. Sissy runs from children when they try to play with her so she would probably be best with someone without toddlers, though she has never bitten a child. She loves to play and go for walks. She is a good little watch dog who barks a lot. She is NOT at the Pet Savers Shelter, but Linda will be taking the calls at 861-2020 or 469-4499.

Lady (Female)
Lady is a sweet, calm, 6-year old spayed Dachshund. Her owner is stressed out with the death of a parent and another who needs constant care and could not cope with his little dog, too. It was sad to see them part, but she is a lovely little dog, totally house-trained, who will make a great pet for someone. Currently she is being fostered by the mother of one of our staff members. Tramp (Male)
Poor little Tramp has a really sad story: Some mean kids in a bad neighborhood were throwing things at him, trying to force him out into the street to be run over, when a woman rescued him and brought him to us. He is desperate for someone to hold him and love him, and even though he's with Sallie the Terrier, he cries for atttention. Part of one ear is missing, too, so at about 4 months old, he's already had a hard life. It was all I could do to keep from taking him home. Poverty and ignorance are our biggest problems here. Kids who are cruel to animals will undoubtedly continue it as adults. Pet Savers Shelter. Adopted 5/3/08.
